On Grandparents Day, many schools arrange for parties
and conduct various activities, to mark the celebrations of the glorious
day. In such parties, children are accompanied by their grandparents.
Apart from the usual activities, a variety of interesting party games
are also arranged to escalate the party spirit in all the guests.
Grandparents Day party games are equally enjoyed by the younger as well
as the older generation. We have given a list of the popular party games
for Grandparents Day, in the lines below.
Grandparents Day Party Game Ideas
Newspaper Costume
The objective of this game is to make a costume with the help of
newspapers. The guests (children and their grandparents) are divided
into teams with two players in each team. The players are supplied with
few sheets of newspaper, a pair of scissors and a roll of cello tape. A
time limit, say 15 minutes, is set, within which each team has to create
an outfit. The costume should consist of a hat, top and pants. Each
player uses only one sheet of newspaper. After the time is over,
teachers judge the costumes made by each team and hand out prizes for
the neatest and the most creative costumes.
Laugh Out Loudly
This is a very hilarious game to watch and even more fun to play. This
is indeed a challenging game. The players are asked to sit in a circle
facing each other. Then, a player starts the game by saying "Ha"!
And the next player follows this by saying "ha! Ha!" and the
third one say "Ha! Ha! Ha!" and so on. A player is eliminated
from the game as soon as he/she says the wrong number of "Ha!"
Spoon Race
This is a very popular Grandparents Day game, in which the grandparents
themselves are asked to race with a spoonful of peas. The objective of
the game is to race to become the first in reaching the other end of the
hall with a spoon full of green peas. The players should walk with
utmost care, because the peas should not fall off their spoons until
they reach the other end. The grandparent who first reaches the other
end is declared the winner.
Pick the Ping-Pong Balls
This is another funny party game for Grandparents Day. The game
consists of a team with two players (again, a grandparent with his/her
grandchild). Ping-pong balls of different colors are thrown all around
the party hall. The aim of the team is to collect as many ping pong as
they can and put them with two little buckets within a set time limit,
say 5 minutes. Then, the next team is given the chance. Three to four
teams generally play this game. The team which has collected the maximum
number of ping pong balls is declared the winner.
